This postcard was sent just prior to the New Year from a Mrs A.
Ayland or Aldridge were the most common Arlingham surnames of the time which commenced with A.
However I suspect that the sender's name was not Annis. 'Annis' in this context is perhaps more likely to be a greeting in latin, wishing the recipient many years of future life - derived from the ablative form of Annus (year) and therefore meaning years.
