Captain James Henry Evans
By Jeannette Thornell
Captain James Henry Evans was the Dockmaster for both Gloucester and Sharpness during 1914-1929. He was one of several brothers, who with their father Capt.Jasper Evans, were Merchant Seamen on the Canals, sailing from their home at Frampton on Severn. My husband John and I have done much research on this Evans family, finding that there were seven members of the family, including son-in-laws, who were all Mariners.
I am interested in finding out if there are any more records relating to Mariners on the Gloucester Canal, apart from those in the Gloucester Archives. Can anyone help?
