Various views of Frampton on Severn

A collection of photographs of the village.
By Iris Capps

This selection of views of Frampton on Severn reflect the long history of the village and the varied activities of the local population.

Sale of the Vicarage in the 1960s

The Sale of the Vicarage in the 1960s and the construction of a replacement led to further development in the very early 1970s in the right hand side of Vicarage Lane and Glebe Close (see photograph below).

Vicarage Lane was perhaps one of the original roads into Frampton, previously joining to Claypits along the route of the current public footpath, with a crossroads at Claypits many years ago well before motor vehicles. This road into the village possibly predated The Perryway.
