My name is Brian Bailey and I cannot remember when I was not interested in the River Severn, its boats and the people who work them. Twenty-five years ago I came to live in Frampton-on -Severn.  Since that time I have gathered snips of information on the area, some of which are set out in the following pages. I am no expert, the experts are the people who have over the years imparted their knowledge to me and it is to the many that have done so, that I send my thanks.  This I am sure is only the bones of the subjects
